Gothard Sisters in the Schools


Over the last two weeks the band spent a lot of time in school - playing assemblies for thousands of kids from preschool, kindergarten, middle school and high school to college.  The schools were incredibly fun to play in.  We heard from many people that they usually dread assemblies and we were excited to bring the kids something high energy and fun and interesting that also introduced them to our love for Celtic music and the joys of instrumental music and live performance.  The assemblies covered how we got started in music, the difference between a jig and a reel, question and answer sessions, stories behind the songs, and the kids and young adults even got to learn how to Irish dance.  Here's a big shout out to all the wonderful kids and young adults we played for over the last two weeks - thanks for being so awesome and open and such wonderful listeners!  Here are a few pics from our school assemblies in Wyoming, Montana and Washington, in an album on Facebook:
